Koh Man Nai - turtle sanctuary

The Koh Man islands, Koh Man Nai (”inside”), Koh Man Glang (”middle”) and Koh Man Nork (”outside”), lie directly offshore from Rock Garden Beach near Mae Phim. You can reach the islands by boat from Prasere, and from the pier east of Ao Kai, near Mae Phim.

Koh Man Nai is home to a turtle breeding programme which breeds and re-introduces turtles back into the wild. Several foreigners each year pay to work in this interesting area of conservation, and many more visit the turtle sanctuary by boat.

At the north west side of Koh Man Nai there’s a beach, and further out a coral reef with abundant fish and coral, some of which is shallow enough to see whilst snorkeling.
