The New Coastal Highway Proceeds Towards Completion

New Coastal HighwayThe planned new coastal road which will link resorts along the coast from Laem Mae Phim in Rayong through to Chaolao Beach and Laem Sing in Chantaburi, and on to Trat province is now about 40% complete.

The Buraphachollathit Road, as it has been named, is the new coastal highway which will span 111km of coastline linking resorts along the Eastern Seaboard, and has been designed with a view to supporting the tourism strategy for the area, to add value to the region, and make it more convenient for visitors to travel between resorts.

The project was originally estimated to complete in 2011 and will include a red tarmac cycle lane to allow cyclists to enjoy a fantastic ride along much of the Eastern Seaboard coastline without the need to use the main highway No.3 which links the towns of Rayong, Klaeng, Chantaburi and Trat directly.

The new coastal highway is one of the main developments which is helping to transform the region into a much more desirable area to visit and to reside. As a result, new resort and housing developments are springing up in Laem Mae Phim, Chalao Beach, and indeed in several locations along the planned coastal road, and as more of the road is completed, so the land and properties in those areas are appreciating in value.
