Construction at the 5 star Phupatara development is proceeding towards it’s completion, estimated for sometime 2010. Although currently about 3 months behind schedule (not bad at all for Thailand) due in part to more than the usual amount of heavy rain, the construction is proceeding at a steady and satisfactory pace. Two of the condominium blocks are now complete, and the third is reaching full height. Many of the site’s ocean view villas have been finished, priced around 35 – 40 million baht (just over 1 million US dollars), and construction work on many leisure facilities, such as the extensive pool area to the front of the condominiums, has begun.
This is currently one of the most ambitious and costly projects on the go in Thailand and is situated just 10km down the coast to the west of Mae Phim. The single bedroom condominiums start from around 5 million baht, with 3 bedroomed beachfront ocean villas on 1/2 Rai plots of land priced at 40 million baht.
This prime real estate development with high prices reflecting the exclusive nature of the villas and condominiums and the fabulous leisure facilities to be provided on site sets a new standard for the area by which all others will be measured. Indeed, although there is no other development in the surrounding area which is being constructed to such a high standard with so many on site facilities, the high prices are beginning to make people re-evaluate the price of land in the area, and the price of properties on oceanside developments which also provide on site leisure facilities such as swimming pools, restaurants, tennis courts, etc….. just one more reason why Thailand’s Golden Coast continues to buck the trend on the international property market.
