Well, there are still a few places in the world where your money goes a long way, and the up and coming area of Mae Phim along Thailand’s Golden Coast near Rayong still offers great value for money, and offers a sound investment in an area with good upside potential for growth. [...] The oceanfront Phuphatara residence, condo and Marriot Hotel development at the heart of Thailand’s Golden Coast continues with it’s development. The first two towers of the Ocean Sky condominiums (A and B) are now complete and fully sold, with the third block, Ocean Sky C, on schedule to complete by the end of 2010. The 40 million baht beachfront residences with uninterrupted sea views are partially completed with just another 5 houses to be built, whilst the second row homes at 17 million baht with sea views and adjacent to the swimming pool area are now complete. [...] The whole 300 Rai of Rock Garden Beach resort estate is built on land adjacent to the ocean, and with undeveloped land near the ocean fetching 8 million baht per Rai upwards nowadays, then for the developed land on the Rock Garden Beach resort estate which comes complete with infrastructure and communal facilities you might expect to pay around 2 million baht for a 1/4 Rai plot, plus extra for the house, depending upon it’s condition. Not so for Rock Garden Beach. As the resort estate is gradually restored to it’s former beauty it is still possible to acquire properties on plots of land of 1/4 Rai or more for around 2 million baht…. that includes the house!!! [...] Now that the troubles have died down the enquiries for property in this area of Thailand appear to be picking up once more, an indication that this area will, as before, continue to buck the trend in respect of the world economic climate and continue to be a growth area where property investments have good upside potential and very little downside risk, offering potential investors a good opportunity for profit from their investment in the short to medium term, something which is not so easy to come by in other parts of Thailand or indeed the world.
