For many people who love Spain and who dream of one day owning a Spanish Villa or luxury oceanfront apartment with swimming pool and ocean views, even with the 20-30% reduction in prices of villas and apartments for sale near the ocean in Spain since 2007, any beachfront or sea view villa anywhere near the beach or ocean is likely to cost upwards of 340,000 Euros, that’s about 13.3 million Thai baht at today’s exchange rates.

For Europeans, Spain is a lot closer and more convenient for short breaks, but for those planning to spend a month or more at their holiday home, and especially for those looking to escape the cold weather in the winter time, then Thailand’s tropical climate with warm weather and sunshine for much of the year, with the dryest and sunniest weather coming in the winter months between October and April, provides the perfect solution. Granted that it is more expensive to fly to Thailand than Spain, but the lower cost of living here coupled with the better value for money real estate bargains negates this cost.

The oceanfront Phuphatara residence, condo and Marriot Hotel development at the heart of Thailand’s Golden Coast continues with it’s development. The first two towers of the Ocean Sky condominiums (A and B) are now complete and fully sold, with the third block, Ocean Sky C, on schedule to complete by the end of 2010. The 40 million baht beachfront residences with uninterrupted sea views are partially completed with just another 5 houses to be built, whilst the second row homes at 17 million baht with sea views and adjacent to the swimming pool area are now complete.

The resort’s large swimming pool area which lies between the condo blocks and the residential houses adjacent to the ocean is also now complete, with construction of the Marriot Hotel complex, remaining pool area, aquarium and water park also underway and due to complete around the end of 2011.

So far the development has been a success with a high demand despite the high purchase price per square meter for the units and the high maintenance cost per square meter also. However, one has to understand that these prices reflect a high level of quality throughout, plus the extensive facilities which are being provided and which have to be maintained to a high standard to meet the clients’ expectations.

Further 1 month extension for reduced property transfer fees
